Love Is a Revolution by Renée Watson

3.0

3✰

love is a revolution is an just okay book. i’m really happy that there’s now one more book out there with plus-size rep, which is representation we absolutely need more of, but the actual story itself lacked in more ways then one.

i didn’t connect to any of the characters. personally, i found nala to be quite annoying and i hated the constant lying about things that didn’t even need to be lied about.

the romance was extremely insta-lovey (which if you know me, i can’t stand) and i couldn’t feel the connection between tye and nala.

the one thing i did appreciate is the message of self-love in love is a revolution, but that’s really the only thing i can think of that was nice.

despite all of this, it’s not a horrible book and while it is on the lower side of my 3✰ rating, i can see how some people would enjoy it! it’s just not a book i personally would recommend. :)
