Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree

4.0

Legends & Lattes was the perfect intro into this sort of fantasy literature - it introduced me to the notion of reading words that have no actual meaning in our own world and navigating that in my imagination and understanding of the story, without throwing an intense and complex plot line into the mix that would have totally overwhelmed me!

To me this was a tale of friendship, loyalty and ambition, all set around the most perfect sounding coffee shop! Seriously, I need the Legends & Lattes cafe in real life - I did find myself craving coffee and baked goods quite a lot whilst reading, so beware!

I’m not at liberty to review or recommend this as a fantasy book because I don’t have enough experience of them, however I absolutely can recommend this to anyone wanting to dabble with the ork/fairy/elf/etc side of fantasy literature, or to anyone who just wants a really cute, warm, wholesome read with a bit of adventure, mystery and magic sprinkled in.

Really appreciated the touch of Thimble’s ‘Thimblets’ recipe in the back of the book, but what we really want is the recipe for the Cinnamon Rolls.
