The Avant-Guards #6 by Noah Hayes, Carly Usdin

4.0

The Avant-Guards might just be the most pleasant, low-stakes comic on my regular subscription list. I don't mean that in a demeaning way either. I mean it in the best way. The Avant-Guards is a comforting read. I like spending time in that world, full of diverse girls, queer and not, who pursue their passions for the arts, play basketball, and fall in love. I like how every issue tries to show more of a different character. I love the depiction of basketball (one of my loves), which this issue particularly excels at. I love the puns and the quirks of each team player (and their coach, of course). If you're not reading The Avant-Guards, you should. You'll never regret it.
