The One and Only Bob by Katherine Applegate
5.0
Synopsis: The sequel to the One and Only Ivan follows Ivan's friend Bob the dog as he struggles to accept his role from stray to pet.
The One and Only Bob is a perfect example of what a sequel or spin-off should be. We follow Bob as he is learning to be a pet and trying to shake his old habits of life as a stray. He visits the zoo with his owners where we get to see old characters like Ivan and Ruby.
Once again, Applegate does a phenomenal job of handling heavy topics for children and weaving morals in subtly. The plot surrounding Bob's sister is surprisingly dark, but contrasted with hope and resilience. Bob is a great character, and you will love reading about his story as much as you loved reading about Ivan's!
