All-New X-Men, Vol. 1: Yesterday's X-Men by Brian Michael Bendis

3.0

This book was all over the place. I had a hard time following the timeline for the first few issues and the dialogue was extremely repetitive.

The time travel idea is a neat one but I'm not convinced it can be pulled off here without leaving a ton of plot holes in its wake.

Be warned there is a lot of Cyclops in this book. Two versions of him in fact. And he is just as insufferable as always. As is Emma Frost. The end of this books tells me the story splits into two - All New XMen following the originals in the present day and Uncanny Xmen following the new Scott Summers and friends. Given what I've read in this book there is no way I'll be picking up Uncanny. Those characters don't interest me in the slightest.

The art is the one strong point of this collection. It's very detailed and the colours really pop. I particularly liked the spread after Jean reads Hank's mind.
