The Plague of the Living Dead and More Tales of the Uncanny by Katherine Merritte Yates, Robert W. Chambers, A. Hyatt Verrill, C. Hall Thompson, John Steinbeck, Rudyard Kipling, Robert A.W. Lowndes, Kurt Singer, Ray Bradbury

4.0

A really enjoyable collection of short horror, including two novellas and six short stories. Two of the entires are decidedly Lovecraftian ([a:Robert Lowndes|2940444|Robert Lowndes|http://www.goodreads.com/images/nophoto/nophoto-U-50x66.jpg]' "The Abyss" and [a:C. Hall Thompson|2929774|C. Hall Thompson|http://www.goodreads.com/images/nophoto/nophoto-U-50x66.jpg]'s "Spawn of the Green Abyss"), but my favorite is [a:John Steinbeck|585|John Steinbeck|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1182118389p2/585.jpg]'s "The Affair at 7 rue de M--", a wonderful little bit of dark humor about chewing gum that chews its owner, rather than the other way round.
