A good ending to the whole Crazy Rich Asians trilogy, focused on the passing of the head of the clan, Shang Su Yi. The book deals with all the emotions the large family deal with during her final days on her deathbed as well as after her passing. The book coninues the subplots of Astrid and her new partner Charlie, as well as rounding off Eddie's subplot where he bids for a large stake in Su Yi's inheritance. This novel revolves mostly around Nick, Rachel takes a back seat in this novel until halfway through, and her charachter seems to have been cast to the side and underdeveloped here. The 'humble' Chinese American girl has been lost in the battle for Su Yi's inheritance, and Kwan could have developed Rachel by exploring the changes in her cultural and social status.
