While I loved the unique setting for this book (and the author's notes at the end which talked about why she selected the setting), I was a little disappointed by the mystery itself. The missing girls was a great premise, but it felt like it took a back seat most of the book. I know that Hwani's missing father was the main focus, but it felt like other than the fact he was investigating the missing girls, that part of the plot never came up. The atmosphere surrounding the girls' disappearances in particular was so creepy I wish it had been explored more! Either way, this was a solid read from Hur and I look forward to trying more!
