Bound by Sin by Jacquelyn Frank

The Good: An interesting premise.

The Bad: Stiff narrative, which I was not expecting from Ms. Frank. I liked her Nightwalkers series enough and that was a fairly rich mythology and ‘verse so I had high hopes on this one. Unfortunately, nothing felt natural or flowed well and I wasn’t sure about the relationship between Jileana and Jakun from beginning to end.

I got this in June and I kept trying to read it, but it was super easy to put down. The urge to skim was strong and for a girl who reads, on average, a book a day AND loves paranormal/urban fantasy? It was kind of painful how it took me a reallllllly looooooooong time to get through this.

Everything In Between: It’s the third in a series, which I didn’t know when I picked this up, so I want to give it the benefit of the doubt that perhaps it would have helped to have started from the beginning with this series.

Did not work for me. It’s not my cuppa, but this may be a series that needs to be read from the beginning. That said, I just don’t see myself going back for the earlier books or continuing with it.
