Queer 13: Lesbian And Gay Writers Recall Seventh Grade by Gabrielle Glancy, Lisa Cohen, Ralph Sassons, Marcus Mabry, Robert Gluck, Clifford Chase, Michael Lowenthal, Rebecca Brown, Joe Westmoreland, David Bergman, Justin Chins, Wayne Kostenbaum, Rebecca Zinoric

3.0

Some of these essays were really quite beautiful, but others were really quite boring. Overall, the collection does a nice job of focusing on the confluence of emerging sexual identity, bodily awareness, and peer pressure that comes with being thirteen. Perhaps because I'm a younger generation than the authors in this book, many of the essays failed to resonate with me as much as I'd expected they would. Still, an interesting collection.
