X-Force, Vol. 1: Dirty/Tricks by Simon Spurrier

4.0

I missed this run because I fell off of xmen during the Wolverine and the xmen days. I’m glad I went back and checked it out.

Si Spurrier’s writing used to irk me, but I’ve grown to really appreciate it. His eccentricities are on full display here, but they are used to full effect. The art by Kem and then Molina is great thoroughout, though the two styles are quite different.

The team is solid. Marrow is a particularly fun addition. I’ve been a big fan of hers since Marvel vs Capcom. The book picks up on a lot of the characterization and character stories that have been going on since Remender’s run, and it adds some fun wrinkles.
