Cassia awakes in a sweat, its Lucas. Visiting her in her dreams again, he had been missing for so long, yet lately hes been invading her dreams but shes never quite able to reach him. Her thoughts are interrupted by Calla, her little sister who is dying from an unknown disease with no reason or cure in sight.
The story paints a beautiful picture of the other realm and the characters between them with fantasy tropes littered throughout that ticks all the boxes.
As the story progresses, you find yourself needing to know what happens next all the time, with the end totally throwing me for such a loop that I am now eagerly awaiting to read the next installment of the trilogy, The Eternal Shadow.
