The Raven Tower by Ann Leckie

4.0

I have no idea how I could describe this book accurately, nor the experience of reading it. It was truly unlike anything else I've read thus far.
My friend, Amanda, did a much better job at this, I think.

This book doesn't really fit within any genre for me. It has elements of Fantasy, but it isn't like any other fantasy book I've ever read. It sometimes feels like a literary novel, yet to me that doesn't feel right either. The same goes for mystery. It's truly a unique book, and I wish it had a continuation of some kind.

I really loved the introspective parts about religion, the nature of godhood, and the relationship of "higher beings" to humanity and the rest of the world. Maybe the author will write more books in this world (I sure hope so!)
