Just like the first Poldark book, this second book in the series gave me what I expected which would be a three star read. I gave the book another star for showing character development and depth (people who have multiple
feelings at once and more than one conflict in life coupled with good). The final star comes from the writing which, for me, flows in an interesting and comfortable way. Descriptions are not too wordy and characters don’t over explain.
My grandad was a miner in Scotland and England so I appreciate the subject and the accuracy of the storytelling of mining life in Britain.
