A Monstrous Place by Matthew Stott
5.0
What a wonderful read. This story is a horror written mainly for children. It reminds me of a mix of Roald Dahl, Nightmare on Elm Street and The Good Life.
The best thing about this book is its characters. Molly is fierce and Mr Adams is a man built for adventure. The monster was fun and scary, but not too scary, and carried a strong level of threat throughout.
A rare foray into independent publishing, and I am very glad I did so.
