Batman: Detective Comics, Vol. 7: Batmen Eternal by Javier Fernandez, Eddy Barrows, Eddy Barrows (Illustrator), Alvaro Martinez, James Tynion IV

4.0

Hmm, 3.5 stars? It's hard for me to rate these sorts of books, because of course I'm going to like this. It's the Bat family, and I can actually trust James Tynion IV to know enough about all of the players to write a story that's compelling, adheres to continuity, and makes sense. While many of the elements in this story arc are ones we've seen many times before (threat of dystopian police state, etc), the story felt "right" to me. As is more often true that not in a bat story, it was dark, yet managed to end in a hopeful manner. The art, for the most part was very good, though it still annoys me that DC often has multiple artists working on the same story arc, which sometimes disrupts the story's continuity (and some of the art is noticeably better or worse).
