Rabbit's Bad Habits by Julian Gough

3.0

I talked to a bunch of 3rd graders who read this and it cracked me up that several of them said it was boring when the author's whole motivation was to write a book that wasn't boring. I think it's because 3rd grade might be a little too mature for this. The biggest gag is that Rabbit eats his own poo (true fact!). Bear is an extraordinarily kind character who helps Rabbit even though Rabbit is sort of a jerk.

This could be a good pick for very strong readers ages 4-6 or as a read-aloud for those ages. Older kids may only enjoy it if the word "poop" still gives them the giggles.
