Antiracist Baby by Ibram X. Kendi

3.0

I just don't understand what this book is trying to achieve.

Is it actually meant to be a children's book? In which case, I really don't see how this could possibly succeed at sustaining the interest of young children. Frankly, even the name "Antiracist Baby" feels rather laughable...?

The other possibility is that it's meant to grab the attention of parents and it's meant to be used by said parents instead of read to their children. Children's books are more likely to be read by parents after all, and the name "Antiracist baby" is provocative enough to make almost anyone want to read it. However, I'm not sure if this was the intention? I suppose it could function as a nice list of tips for those who want to raise antiracist babies.

Overall, I'm quite unimpressed by Goodreads' choice.
