Nona the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir

3.0

*very small spoiler*

Honestly, it's a bit of a disappointment. Nona is constantly an onlooker to the interesting parts of the narrative, including the ending where she blacks out for a good portion of it. This makes a confusing series *that* less comprehensible. This will be a joy to anyone who has annotated the previous books and wants to find all the juicy hints and secrets, but I fear that even though I will reread before Alecto, I won't have the energy. I do feel like this should have been a novella, with the same amount of information we are given. I miss Harrow.
