A fantastic ending to a really solid series! I really enjoyed the way the seeds planted in the first two books come to fruition in this final chapter.

I must admit as per usual with Jay's books I definitely shed a tear towards the end - and though certain deaths definitely made me sad It was definitely a satisfying ending.

I also found this series as a whole but especially this book to be a very poignant criticism of the way we as humans treat the environment and each other. It becomes very relevant when considering the way the younger generations are currently fighting for our world leaders to address climate change.

I also appreciated that Hiro did get a small redemption arc, while I definitely don't like him it felt far more satisfying than if Yukikio had just killed him.

I was also really happy it ended with Kin and Yukiko together with a family - I was definitely rooting for them since they first met!

The only criticism I really have I is that I wish the plot surrounding Lady Izanami and the involvement of the serpents - I feel like it maybe wasn't as well developed as it could have been and I'm a bit confused as to what their motivations were for helping her destroy the world. This could totally be on me, and perhaps when I do a reread I'll understand better.

All in all, I definitely enjoyed this series, it was a bit slow at the beginning but it developed into a very cool story! Not my fav Jay Kristoff but definitely a good read!
