Dr. Critchlore's School for Minions by Sheila Grau

4.0

Entertaining story of Runt Higgins, a young werewolf who keeps being put in the dorm for human minions in training instead of the werewolf dorm. He has great trouble saying "no" to anyone. He is excited though because he has been chosen for junior henchman training. Then he discovers that there are 25 people offered the training where the class is not supposed to be more than 5. So there is to be a competition for the 5 places. He is thinking that perhaps he should just withdraw, the Demarais refuses to let him volunteer to opt out. There is a new pupil, Pismo, who seems determined to make Runt's life miserable. He is continually causing him trouble and landing him in detention. Runt's best friends are Frankie25 (who is continually fiddling with his bolts and losing his head when he gets nervous or upset, Darthin who is interested in technology and such, Boris and Eloi who are orgre-humans that don't fit in with the ogres. The School is in trouble with all kinds of accidents occuring which are affecting the school's reputation. Runt is desperate to save the school and tries his hardest with his friends to alert security and Dr Critchlore to things going on, but they are continually ignored.
