i read this bc i absolutely loved broder’s “milk fed” however i sadly feel that set my expectations far too high. i felt like i was walking through mud to finish this as the first half was super slow.
however, i think her commentary on the emotional void being filled addiction and love was very beautiful. i appreciate the book for being truthful about how the depths of depression feel - unfortunately that’s not an aesthetically pleasing or enjoyable topic when written about genuinely.
overall, i think this is a good book for anyone experiencing a breakup or attempting to understand how to fill an emotional void.
