okay, yeah — it's definitely (out)dated, between racist language and the whole discussion of marriage and it being the biggest factor in the feminist fight.

or, at least that's how it seems to me. i feel like... i am completely out of the social group that sees marriage as a necessary thing, as something to look forward to, as something that is spoken with high regard, as something that i should want to be and will be apart of, so that's why i feel all the focus on marriage is dated. i guess i should probably research that, how young women like myself in 2020 view marriage, because i have a viewpoint of it but it's just my viewpoint. maybe there's a set of people out there that still see marriage as this huge, viable thing, and also can see the oppressive nature it still probably has on women, i don't know.

also, there's discussion of lesbianism in this but no discussion of any other sexuality, also completely leaves out transgender and nonbinary people, which i guess is fair for being 1970, but still.

this book is groundbreaking for 1970, but doesn't hold up well in 2020.
