This colllection was so unsettling in the best way. I especially appreciated the focus on paranoia and abject fear, which Evenson writes so well. I’d like to remember this collection, too, for its title story: one of my students read it and it deeply affected him, which made me reread it and consider it in new ways. It made me appreciate the story on a different level. I was also deeply impacted by “Cult,” “Seaside Town,” “The Dust,” and “Click.”
