I loved this one. Obviously, these book are literary icons - they’re just mindless fluffy reads - but I ate this one up.

Caleb?! Are you kidding me?! I adored him. I loved that he was quiet but strong and completely unwavering. I loved that he gave Amy her space to be independent and treated her as truly a partner. I will say though, his shyness was a bit extreme and frustrating. It made for some funny moments and was a little endearing, it was annoying. His thoughtfulness was absolutely unmatched. The way he noticed and paid attention to Amy made me swoon. He really, truly saw her and that was beautiful.

I also really liked Amy. She had her annoying moments, don’t get me wrong, but I liked her overall. I thought watching her learn to stand up for herself was rewarding. I think it’s easy to forget how events or people can affect us when they’re out of sight, so I thought it was incredibly real that Amy reverted back to her old self a little when Blake confronted her.

Normally I despise insta-love, but it didn’t bother me in this story. I think that’s because even though Caleb literally fell in love when he saw Amy, he didn’t run up to her and declare his love. He still took his time.
Finally, an engagement that happened a year after they started dating!
He told Amy his intentions and that he loved her from day one, but it wasn’t creepy nor did it seem disingenuous.

I really did love this one. I’m not sure if this is my favorite in the series or Sloane and Jason’s book.
