✨ Thrifted ✨

I adored ‘The Namesake’ so I was excited when I saw this short story collection at a book sale 🥹

I thoroughly enjoyed ‘A Temporary Matter’.
Shoba’s sudden announcement of her departure felt human and flawed and perfect for the story 🥲

The eponymous story was WILD. Poor Mr. Kapasi 😳
Also, Mrs. Das fucking around and finding out (and Bobby not being Mr. Das’s kid) had me SHOOK!

‘Sexy’ made my jaw drop. Mira’s confidence is stripped away so fast it really made me feel funny. Honestly, men are the worst 🙊

‘This Blessed House’ was fascinating. I could see the imagery so vividly too. Twinkle was also quite the icon 🔥

‘The Third and Final Continent’ thoroughly made me smile. Mrs. Croft was a legend.
The bit where she calls Mala ‘a perfect lady’ lit me up 🥹

Overall, I’m giving this short story collection 4 stars. Thoroughly enjoyed a range of them, thank you Jhumpa Lahiri ✨
