Last Evenings on Earth by Roberto Bolaño

This acted essentially as a Bolaño primer for me- I read it simultaneously in Spanish and English, and both editions were phenomenal.  I loved the formalist conceits in some of the stories- characters called only by their initials and yet being incredibly fleshed out for a story only seven pages long; the same initials used in a different story for completely different characters.  I am happy and proud to own a copy of this.
