Luca's Bridge/El Puente de Luca by Mariana Llanos, Anna Lopez Real
3.0
[I got an ARC of this from ALA Midwinter] This bilingual picture book about a family's experience with deportation is sad and sweet. They lost me a smidge with the dream sequence, but overall the book does a good job of making a big problem feel very personal and relatable on a scale that kids can understand. The illustrations are soft, with colors that track the emotions of the main character. Recommended for ages 5-9.
