Fever Crumb by Philip Reeve

  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? Yes
  • Loveable characters? Yes

3.5

Fever Crumb is a actually a pretty well-written book. If you're familiar with Mr. Reeve's writing, you may like it even more. He certainly does not write to please so some people may find his writing rather dark and depressing. This book proves his mastery of steampunk writing.

I might have enjoyed it more if I'd read it in a better mood. I certainly prefer The Mortal Engines quartet but this book is pretty good if you're keen on reading about the history of how the motorised cities came to life.
