A bit of a spoiler alert here: I guess it is a sign of a REALLY good book that when, on page 770 or something like that, the lead protagonist finally agrees to marry Mr. John Gray and the reader (i.e. me) responds as if Big Papi just hit a walk off home run in the seventh game of the World Series.
Another good sign: This book is the first in a series of six novels and I had to FORCE myself to read a short something else in between as a "palate cleanser." I raced through that book so that now, today, I can dive back in to the Palliser world.
