Defiant Queen by Meghan March

5.0

I absolutely loved book #1 ([b:Ruthless King|59346180|Ruthless King (Mount Trilogy, #1)|Meghan March|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1634184600l/59346180._SX50_.jpg|56447182]) and a few chapters into this thought it might be suffering from "second book syndrome". It didn't take long for me to realise just how wrong I was about that. If anything this book is even better than the first. I definitely devoured it as quickly as possible - sleep is an overrated commodity!

We get to know Mount so much better in this book, and I am now totally in love with both him and Keira. He may have committed monstrous deeds but Mount would raze the earth to protect Keira, the poor man is smitten. Meanwhile, she is oblivious of just how much power she truly wields.

The surprises, the blows and the threats are constant, MM has somehow managed to write this so that you never want to step away from the story. I have absolutely no idea where this story will go next. I do know that despite the way he manipulated Keira into his world and bed, Mount has definitely earned his redemption and I was only too happy to see Keira take her place, as Queen, at his side.

I can't wait to read book #3.
