Her Big City Neighbor by Jackie Lau

1.0

DNF at 50%. There was no connection between any of the characters. I learn way too much about everything Amy ate without really getting to know much about it. It was like a list of things she tried every day which was...not really helpful for the story. I love food in my books, but not like this. Then the no connection between any of the characters and yeah it was not my favorite. That and Amy's conversations had so many exclamation marks! Everything she said! Yes! I do like that. So I kept reading it like she was yelling everything...I know I type with a lot of exclamation marks, a bad habit from an old job where if you didn't put them in it was like you were upset or something, but I am not used to it in my books. And Amy felt super young to me. She grew up in a small town so I could understand the naivety, but...I don't know. To me, she acted like she was 12 and that is not what I want in my adult romance...especially when she starts making out with her neighbor. So overall not the book for me.
