Re-read in 2024 and I've wanted to do this forever...
My review a few years back is eeesh down here, I fell too hard for this series and it was worth it..
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh the feeling of losing myself in a high fantasy world such as this is what makes reading books one of the main pleasures of life. This book was spectacular and was a mix of one of the most complicated world buildings and the most intricate of stories that I’ve read. I don’t have any idea why I waited so long to read this series, first I waited because it was an unfinished series, which if started my tender heart couldn’t survive any cliffhangers and hence I waited until the trilogy was complete. Regretfully I was quite late at picking up series.

Well well … the world building is pressuring complex, but I felt the same while reading the shadow and bone trilogy, hence I completely immersed myself in this book and damn ! there are so many amazing characters and so much magic in this book that it is admirable to have brought everything together in such a fabulous manner. I love ‘tea’ she is one of the female protagonists who will always remain in my heart as a brave badass. Bringing the dead back to life and to be skilled with such a gift is only for brave souls and she is amazing, I love the warmth and love Fox shows her, making me wish for a brother like him (alive please). Mykaela makes me very sad because of her role as the vanishing mentor, I like Kalen more than Kance (smiles silently), I am really intrigued by the heart-forgers… what I mean to say is that all the characters are making a deep impact on me while I am reading this series.

The plot of the book, the magic, the emotions, the heartglass, the colours, the amazing series of events from the first book have made me in tune for the next books which I hope to enjoy as much as I can.

The trick is to keep reading, this first book is like the warm up before a body gruelling exercise, what I feel is that, there are a lot of elements that will make the next two books more deadly beautiful only if our time and understanding is invested in this book one. This is what I felt, because I just started the second book and I’m already breezing through it, as I am well versed with the characters and the basic plot. Lets see how the next two books go!!

PS: loved the ending in this one.
