My first book from Elizabeth Silver and I enjoyed it, although it did seem to end a but abruptly.
It worked well as the opening of this interlinked shared world series though an I liked the Old West mixed with magic vibes of its setting.
I also liked that it was an interracial romance that didn't mince words on how difficult it would be in this alternate universe which still had a feel of New Mexico in the 1800s.
