This was a quick read and a great palette cleanser after finishing Glow of the Everflame. I liked this slightly more than The Shadows Between Us- I did go into this wondering how I could possibly like Chrysantha after that book after how vile she was in her letters towards Alessandra which made me not want to pick up the book, but I’m glad I did.
I think my biggest issue with this book (and it can’t be helped as it simply is just this way) is that it’s a YA book. I had to mentally age these characters up for it not to be so silly/goofy to me, and I think if this was adult or new adult, this book could’ve had so much more potential and could’ve really driven a 5⭐️ for me
