Momma Zen: Walking the Crooked Path of Motherhood by Karen Maezen Miller

5.0

I've read quite a few memoirs about motherhood in the past few years, but this one was really unlike the rest. I really loved the way the author wove her personal stories into the wisdom that she has learned over the years from her spiritual journey. She brings up the toughest challenges that motherhood brings about (discipline, feeding your child, keeping a routine, etc.) and imparts insight on how to face them and view them with a different lens. She is not preachy about her beliefs, but rather shares the insight she has learned as a Buddhist that applies directly to the task of raising another human.

I would highly recommend this book to mothers who are looking for advice, comfort, inspiration, but most of all, encouragement that you're on the right track.
