4.0

This was a pretty solid issue of Clarkesworld Magazine. I listened to most of these from the podcast and followed along with the online text a few times. My favorites were:

Loved:
"The James Machine" by Kate Osias
A wife's husband is sick and wants to create an A.I. version of himself to keep his wife company after his passing.

Liked:
"Last Gods" by Sam J. Miller - reprint
Are the gods really gods? In a post-apocalyptic setting and knowledge lost, anything could be a god
"To Fly Like a Fallen Angel" by Qi Yue
Fascinating world-building focused on a hacker living underground with wings who is tasked to find a life-altering secret
"A Gaze of Faces" by Mike Buckley
Vault divers, historians, go into the "library" to study Origin Earth.

Others:
"Gubbinal" by Lavie Tidhar - Was good but was missing something.
A scavenger meets someone that needs her assistance but finds more than she was bargained for.
"For What are Delusions if Not Dreams?" by Osahon Ize-Iyamu
Went over my head some. An operator becomes self aware.
"Swift as a Dream and Fleeting as a Sigh" by John Barnes - reprint
Ants, counseling, and imagination. A bit confusing for me
