A historical horror tale - what would have happened if aliens or ?? attacked when it was wolves that ruled the world?
Hunter Hunterson & Sons
I thought of Supernatural - with the Winchesters. This had much of that feel -- if the boys were redneck haters.
Red Man
I loved this story. On one level it is a story about a man who has had some bad luck -- on another level it is a commentary on social norms, and what we do in the name of protecting our children
Iowa Typhoon
A nod to Stephen King or maybe Bentley Little - - something horrible is happening in a small town, how do they handle it?
The Great Snipe Hunt
I thought this was the best story in the batch. And as I am reading ZOO by James Patterson right now, I saw some parallels -- we are seriously screwed if the animals ever start evolving more smarts and decide we shouldn't be here anymore.

A very disturbing tale. I didn't know the NFL had a security unit that researched potential draft picks -- this is the story of what would happen if that security team found something truly evil?
Mt. Fitzroy (first chapter)
I have not read/listened to Earth Core -- so this story just didn't really draw me at all.
Sacred Cow
An interesting thought on who/what "God" is.
I listened to these stories on the FDO's podcast. And really, I think I like his short stories even more than I like his full length stuff. Awesome.
