Sweet on You by Carla de Guzman

3.0

Sigh. It started off strong. By the second chapter, I was already really hungry for the food, and the prank wars between Sari and Gab were amusing. Then it was a complete 180, from Sari being suspicious of Gab being stiff competition to being into him. In fact, those suspicions were never addressed again. The change of heart felt rather underdeveloped, and I actually wasn’t into them as a couple. And the third act with the conflict and Gab’s own family issues felt rushed.

So, this book started off with a bang and ended with a formulaic whimper. Sigh.
