Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
4.0
This one took some patience … It took a little bit to get really interesting and even still, it wasn’t the gripping read I thought it would be, but I did find myself intrigued and wanting to go on.
Rossi is clearly a good writer and world-builder. I also appreciated her underlying messages about the way people treat one another just because they might be different. I feel book 1 was more a ‘laying the groundwork’ sort of installment and, while there was some action, I expect this to pick up more into the series. Will read on, at least somewhat to see where else this series may go.
Overall, an interesting read that, as the series goes on, I’ll expect I’ll be glad I read.
3.5 stars.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Note:
I listened to the audiobook, which I STRONGLY advise against. This narrator sounds like Piglet from Walt Disney’s Winnie The Pooh films and honestly I cannot for the life of me figure out why anyone would hire this godawful voice to narrate their book(s). Strongly advise print or digital if you’re picky about listening like I am. 2-star performance.
