Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein

4.0

This book was personal and powerful. It is WW2 historical fiction. It is about 2 women who come from different social classes and are part of the WAAF (Women's Auxilliary AirForce-women's auxilliary for the RAF). They form a close bond of friendship. There are questions of what is the truth and trying to figure out who is who. There is hidden code. And a story written within an story. There are airplanes, the British, French resistance, Nazis, and references to history and literature. I will likely read this one a second time as there was so much in it. And I look forward to checking out the other related novels by the author. I enjoyed doing some research into the WAAF after reading this.
