Ive been waiting for this book since I read Vane’s story earlier in the series. When I first started this I was confused as to why it is so late in the series, when many of the events in this book predate what happens in Acheron; however, the third act of this is definitely more in line with the current times.

That being said. A lot happens/is revealed in this book. Like a lot. It’s honestly more plot dense than the smaller books usually are.

I had a good time with this book. At times, I wished I had reread Vane and Bride’s story before starting, but it wasn’t super necessary. This one was really illuminating on so many of the things I had questions about from Vane and Bride’s book.

I keep seeing conflicting things about where this is placed in the story. I read it after Acheron and One Silent Night, however, you probably could read it before those two and still be fine.

Overall, I had a nice time and plan on continuing the series.
