I don't think Cook has too many new ideas for the Company. I want to believe he has an ending in mind for this series, but I've read too much fantasy and sci-fi to hold out much hope. That said...
This was a fun read. I loved getting Lady's point of view, including and especially her delightfully naive idea that getting pregnant couldn't happen to her . Lovely also to get a third person narrator for Croaker. I was so happy to know he wasn't dead .
I'm not *too* interested in the Shadowmasters' story, especially given Longshadow reads like a fragile narcissist. (redundant phrasing?) Meh, they're part of the story now, like it or not.
Looking forward to seeing how things progress after the closing of the Book of Lady.
