The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien

Brilliant and boring in equal measure 😰 it’s a religious text — and for every aspect I love, from the deep mythology of the elves to the downfall of Númenor, there’s spans of pages that are just genealogies or descriptions of geography. Tolkien’s legendarium is a masterpiece of fiction, and I’m so happy to have read this… but I’m also SO happy to be done.
