This was an insane storyline. I was gripped from the beginning of the book till about mid way through. The middle of the novel I become a little bored but the ending picked up quit nicely.
This story is every girl and woman’s worst nightmare. Being held captive. And what is worse, being held captive by someone you know.

The first 3 chapters told the story of Lily being held captive in the here and now. Every chapter after was the aftermath to Lily and her family’s lives. This novel was a whirlwind of emotions for me. This section of the book was the hardest for me to get through. I had a really hard time identifying with Lily’s feelings along with trying to understand and like her sister Abby.

Abby’s character was very impulsive and reckless. For her circumstances in her personal life, I feel like she probably should have taken a step back. To me, she also acted like she was more traumatized than Lily did when Lily finally returned home.

Lily’s character throughout the book really troubled me. Lily had such a calmness to her that it was almost like she believed she deserved what happened to her. Or she was glad it was her and not somebody else. Very odd to me.

But at the end of the novel, it ended perfectly how I would have wanted it to end and is a book I would totally recommend someone to read!
