A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik

3.0

This book was just weird to me. It felt so YA specially since it’s in El’s pov and so much information was given in such a rambling way that I got lost so many times, I had to go back and re read again. All the other characters are so underdeveloped, El is so rude and while I didn’t hate her in the end, damn is she annoying, it felt very much like a 16 yo. I was bored and lost with the magic elements and I feel like the world building would have work better if this wasn’t told from El’s pov. The extra star is for the cover, cuz it’s a beauty, but otherwise this book is a meh. Will read the second one just to see if El and Orion’s relationship is developed and she stops being rude to him (and will definitely skip the 3rd book iykyk)
