Kind of a bummer read. I just ended up feeling badly for all the characters except for Walter, who was acting like an ass.
Cassie makes some observation that Walter will go on to blame himself for the death of the FBI agent who got his throat cut, and I'm like, GOOD. He should blame himself, he refused to follow directions from trained FBI staff during a murder investigation. That makes him a jackass.

I'm kind of bitter that we never find out what happens to the little dog. Does someone find her? Does she get a new home? Why even bother writing her into the story at all? The world may never know.

Overall, still a fun comfort read. Did make me afraid to ever travel to Nevada.
