DELIGHTFUL. Occasional copy-editing fail and Micah, while a very likable character, is a bit of a stereotype - but I really enjoyed returning to the world of Swordspoint. A cozy, engaging read.

(Also, if Micah and her family are intentionally all named after characters from Cold Comfort Farm - well played, Ellen Kushner, well played.)

I'll be interested in how the serial reading experience works for me. So far I really enjoy the episode length and structure.

I would normally not talk about the economics of publishing in a book review, but I want to address Serial Box's pricing model. The price per episode feels a bit high if you jump in late (my bad, honestly, I forgot that I would lose the discount if I didn't subscribe from the beginning). However, there are a lot of talented writers working on this, and I want them to all get compensated fairly - and my understanding is that the word count of Tremontaine is going to exceed a typical novel. So the price is fair, but it is a high price point and word count commitment for a book.

This is probably GENIUS, because it's so challenging to get people to pay out adequately for fiction. I do hope the series eventually gets bundled and distributed through library eBook vendors, for people like me who don't have a lot of disposable income for media.
