What Alice Forgot
by Liane Moriarty
Wow... I haven't read the description of the book, as always and even with the title I was shocked by reading the first chapter. It immediately grabbed my attention and made me so intrigued to find out what happened to Alice. I even got goosebumps...
But at the same time it caused me so much sudden anxiety I only felt once while reading something. I don't remember what now... First of all I want to say that I'm a horror reader and I can read extreme horror without a problem but as I read only a chapter from this book my anxiety and fear of this book felt overwhelming. As I was reflecting on the themes of this chapter I realized that even though I haven't read this theme before memory loss/amnesia is a trigger for me. Loosing control and not being able to remember a decade of her life... I feel anxious even imagining myself in her place.
For my mental health and overall enjoyment I decided to put down this book for now. I won't rate it and will mark it as read but for at the moment this will be a DNF for me.
