Freedom Is a Constant Struggle: Ferguson, Palestine, and the Foundations of a Movement by Angela Y. Davis

4.0

the redundancy was kinda a negative which many other ppl have noted, but i overall really enjoyed this and didn’t mind the repetition as much as i thought i might bc i managed to view each interview/speech within its own context. i really enjoyed seeing her views on obama change over the couple years this was put together. i liked the overall themes of how movements need to be transnational and globally informed, as well as her perspectives on state violence. also was impressed with interactions with trans studies stuff near the end!! overall would recommend but like, you don’t have to read the whole thing? maybe pick some of the chapters that interest you. i listened to this in one sitting but my favourites were (i think) the second or third interview chapter then the 8th and 9th speech chapters.
